A new project by Will Deely named Heavy Things has released new song “Sold”

Will Deely is a songwriter from the Columbus, Ohio.  Growing up in the suburbs of a large city known for it’s exceptional music scene and arts community, Deely has been performing at many bars, garages, and basement shows.  Much of his start was touring w/ nationally renowned artists City Lights, Spencer Sutherland, and Carter Winter.  Throughout the duration of these tours, Deely was able to sharpen his skills on and off the stage.  Now a solo artist, Deely combines the elements of rock sub-genres punk, alternative, and classic rock to his arsenal of sound.  Mostly attributing his inspirations to John Mayer, Eric Clapton and New Found Glory.

Song lyrics: Heavy Things – Sold

I’m fighting it
I’m constantly grabbing for moments that slip
Like sand between the fingers in my balled up fist
I spent some days out on the coast this year
And back in the midwest where it feels like home
Everybody’s stressed out by the incoming cold
I keep my hands warm in my sweatshirt pocket
but I can’t stay for too long
Cause I’ve been searching and what I’m finding

I’ve been sold on the same old dreams
Like changing scenery will change anything
No matter the distance I’ll always be
At arms length from finding any peace

I don’t blame suburbia for the way I was brought up with decent opportunity
I wasted my time scraping knees on the concrete, chasing what I thought I should be
And when I was younger I was so naive taking for granted all the things that I need
And tragedy meant nothing to me
But I learned before long
Cause when I leave home is when I feel it most

I’ve been sold on the same old dreams
Like changing scenery will change anything
No matter the distance I’ll always be
At arms length from finding any peace

I still have hope I’ll learn to cope with things
And fill my eyes with something better than this melancholy shade of blue
The dark I feel each afternoon
It lessens more each day
I’m getting better with age and, I’m okay.

I’ve been sold on the same old dreams
Like changing scenery will change anything
No matter the distance I’ll always be
At arms length from who I want to be
