Here a cool music and nice video: Quicksand by Tom Chaplin. If you not familiar with him, then I give you a clue…
Compare this Quicksand music video with Everybody’s Canging by Keane.
And now, you know this guy, don’t you? same voice, Tom Chaplin is the vocalist of Keane. (hiatus since 2013)
Quicksand is the first single from Tom Chaplin debut solo album titled “The Wave” release date: October 4, 2016.
Tom Chaplin, His soaring, emotional voice lay at the centre of Keane, the anthemic, multi-million selling British band who scored 5 number one albums between 2004 and 2013, delivering such unforgettable hits as Everybody’s Changing, Is It Any Wonder? and Somewhere Only We Know. Now, Tom Chaplin returns with his extraordinary solo debut The Wave, a self-penned album revealing the real man behind the songs. It is a journey from utter despair to redemption, love and self-acceptance, told with enormous, emotional pop music. The voice is the same. The songs tell a whole new story.
Song Lyrics Tom Chaplin – Quicsand
You’ll be knocked out, come around
Shot down, shatter on the stony ground
Yeah take it from me, it’s how it’ll be
Your dreams will come true, fall through
Screw you, batter you to black and blue
Yeah take it from me, it’s how it’ll beLove’s gonna leave you broken
Time’s gonna work you over
You get up, you get up
You keep rolling on
Life’s gonna bring you glory
But there’s another side to the story
You get up and suck it up
You keep rolling onBut if you crash land in the quicksand
I will pick you up, I’ll pull you out
And if the world shakes
Your brittle heart breaks
We will patch it up, we’ll work it out
La-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la-la
We will patch it up, we’ll work it outYou’ll be on track, on the rack
Bounce back, wheeling down a bumpy road
Yeah take it from me, it’s how it’ll be
Through the good times, the sad times
Oh, off you go
But take it from me, whatever you needLove’s gonna leave you broken
Time’s gonna work you over
You get up, you get up
You keep rolling on
Life’s gonna bring you glory
But there’s another side to the story
You get up and suck it up
You keep rolling onBut if you crash land in the quicksand
I will pick you up, I’ll pull you out
And if the world shakes
Your brittle heart breaks
We will patch it up, we’ll work it out
When your world cracks open
When your heart is broken
We will patch it up, we’ll work it out
Life’s gonna bring you glory
But there’s another side to the story
We will patch you up, we’ll work it outAnd if the world shakes
Your brittle heart breaks
I will patch you up, we’ll work it out

A letter by Tom to his daughter
Many years ago, a friend of mine said to me that becoming a father would be the making of you. The comment really stuck with me and, now that I have a daughter, truly resonates. The cruel truth is that my addiction could have taken that chance away completely. I didn’t want to write a song that gives an over-sentimentalised, sugar-coated view of the world. My experience has been one of extremes—glorious high and abject lows. I wanted to articulate how these experiences, good and bad, will come and go for her. Most important of all, though, is that when she really needs help and support I will be there. Musically, we wanted the song to tread that fine line between joy and despair, while making the chorus heartfelt and uplifiting.
