About Vanity Strikes
Vanity Strikes is a 4 piece Metalcore band hailing from Rochester, NY. VS was formed in the beginning of 2009 by guitarist Kevin Murphy. With the additions of vocalist Daniel Case, bassist Robert Weston and drummer Brandon Umbanhowar, this incredibly hardworking line up has become a force that will surely have a commanding presence in the music scene. Vanity Strikes has toured with such signed acts as I Set My Friends on Fire, The Bunny The Bear, The Funeral Portrait, Whether I, and others. Vanity Strikes has also been playing notable shows and festivals like Warped Tour 2016 (Ernie Ball main stage winners, Darien Center, NY 2016) Imatter Festival (Memphis May Fire, Blessthefall, Fit for a King, Counterparts), As well as opening for bands such as Asking Alexandria, We Came as Romans, Miss May I, Motionless in White, Oceano, Sworn in and many others.
In 2014, Vanity Strikes released their EP entitled “The Flame”, Produced by Guitarist Kevin Murphy at Oblivion Studios. The Flame includes such tracks as “On My Own” featuring Ice Nine Kills vocalist Spencer Charnas, as well as “This Affliction”, Which showcases the diverse sound that they have to offer! “The Flame” EP has sold over 5,000 copies to date. Vanity Strikes recorded and released a video for their single “Come To Life” in January of 2016. The Music Video was filmed and directed by Sam Link, who worked with such acts as Memphis May Fire, Sleeping With Sirens, and Crown the Empire. In April/ May of 2016, VS entered Oblivion Studios again to record a new full length album, with a release date TBA. In Summer of 2016, the four boys took to the lines of Warped Tour and sold about 6000 copies of the “Vanity Strikes” sampler, which featured tracks off “The Flame” and off the upcoming record they have completed to promote the new upcoming album.
Vanity Strikes has become one of the hardest working DIY bands in the scene today. With strong networking, industry knowledge, and the will to get to the next level, VS will fight, claw, and do whatever it takes to succeed in todays music industry.
