Istanbul – Belum jelas apa penyebab adanya tindak kekerasan yang terjadi di VelvetIndieGround saat streaming event perilisan album baru Radiohead – A Moon Shaped Pool 17/06/16. Beberapa media mengungkapkan bahwa; beberapa orang yang sedang menikmati lagu-lagu Radiohead, mereka dihajar warga karena sambil mabuk di bulan puasa Ramadhan (terjadi pukul 9 malam waktu setempat).

Today, Radiohead is holding a streaming event to celebrate the release of A Moon Shaped Pool at record stores across the globe. According to Turkish news mediaVelvet IndieGround Records in Istanbul was attacked while the Radiohead event was taking place. A group of men angry that the event featured the drinking of alcohol during Ramadan entered the store this evening and accosted the patrons, before things turned violent. Video of the attack was shared on Periscope and YouTube. It has been reported that no one was seriously injured, though one person was reported to be bleeding from the head after being hit with a bottle.

In a Facebook post, Velvet IndieGround Records called upon anyone who needed help to contact them.

Pitchfork has reached out to Radiohead’s representatives and XL Recordings for comment.
