Rise Against has spent their first four years signing with a record label: Fat Wreck Chords Independent, where they released two studio albums, Unraveling (2001) and Revolutions per Minute (2003). Both albums brought considerable success, and in 2003 the band signed a contract with the Geffen label. Together with the label they released Siren Song off album Counter Culture (2004) and brought the band’s mainstream success, producing several successful singles.
The Sufferer & the Witness (2006) and Appeal to Reason (2008), which also succeeded and peaked at number ten and number three on the Billboard 200 chart. Three years later Endgame (2011). Grabbed Platinum on all four albums that had been released through Geffen, while three of these albums have Gold Certificate in the United States.
Rise Against is also known as advocacy of progressivism, organizations like International Amnesty strongly support the band. Rise Against is very active in promoting animal rights advocates of PETA and vegetarianism.
