“All Messed Up” is the clean version of their single All F***ed Up, from their album This Could Be Heartbreak.

Speaking to Triple J, frontman Joel Birch explained the highly personal nature of his lyrics:
[Writing is] a bit of a therapy session for me generally speaking and this time was no different. [We] probably won’t be releasing any liner notes this time. It’s that personal…Mostly it was written on tour, the lyrics, or at home, sort of all over the place.
