US pop-punk Real Friends has released a new album in May 2016 titled “The Home Inside My Head”. Almost all of the track so great impression.
As the first single “Quicker” in April is quite impressive. And in May, Real Friends releasing a new single plus the music video “Mokena”.
Somewhat different from the previous, this songĀ is more calm, but still has emotional nuances. Mid-tempo rocker that resembles introspective lyrics.
Mokena is a village in Illinois. Its location close to the place of the band origin.
Song lyrics: Real Friends – Mokena
[Verse 1]
Staring out the window in my bedroom makes me think back
I see me as a boy out there
Lying in the grass
Singing songs with all the wrong notes
And graduating high school as my mom cries
I’m writing the same song over and over again
And feeling lost
I’ve always felt so lost[Pre-Chorus]
I’m f**king up and getting over it
I’m over it
I’m f**king up and getting over it
I’m over it
I’m over it[Chorus]
I used to get half way home and give up on getting there
I’ll stumble over my own feet
Thinking about everyone and everything that got past me[Verse 2]
I clenched the wheel the whole way home from Cleveland
With nothing more than my eyes half way open
And my hand smelling like smoke
Each mile I drive gets me closer to the streets that made me feel alone
I’m out of place and it doesn’t feel wrong[Pre-Chorus]
I’m f**king up and getting over it
I’m over it
I’m f**king up and getting over it
I’m over it
I’m over it[Chorus]
I used to get half way home and give up on getting there
I’ll stumble over my own feet
Thinking about everyone and everything that got past me[Outro]
I’ll stumble over my own feet
Thinking about everyone and everything that got past me
